A NeuroClarity Consult is a personalised, in-depth educational session to provide you the opportunity to ask questions, learn about care options and provide personalised insights so you can make informed decisions. We recommend this alongside your family, friends or anyone else involved in your care.

It covers;

• Health professional recommendations

• Accessing services, funding streams and hospital

• Identifying the most appropriate therapies

• Developing a personalised 12 month care plan

• Useful tools such as support groups, clinical research and websites

In the first consultation, we evaluate your unique requirements, focusing on communication or swallowing. We address your concerns, challenges, and goals while conducting an assessment that considers normative data for your age and patient-led outcome measures. From this, we tailor a functional treatment program designed to enhance your everyday living and improve overall function. Our thorough sessions, lasting about an hour or more, ensure accurate diagnosis, personalised treatment planning, and regular performance evaluations.

Neurological disorders and degenerative conditions of the brain and nervous system often result in swallowing, communication and cognitive changes. Access to a dedicated and experienced speech pathologist in Neuroscience is essential for reducing the impacts of these conditions on your quality of life. These reviews monitor your function, assess for changes or deterioration, and/or modify therapy to adjust for progress and maintenance. They may also offer opportunities for ongoing referrals, or instrumental assessments that your Speech Pathologist will organise as needed.

Reports are required following assessment and therapy, and sent to referring parties and all medical/health professionals involved in your care. Reports are billed hourly.

LSVT LOUD is a certified and effective speech treatment for people with Parkinson's Disease. It is considered the "gold standard" for speech treatment. All clinicians at SPIN at certified LSVT Practitioners. Various studies have shown effectiveness in loudness, speech clarity, pitch, facial expressions and vocal function. 

These classes are for people who have completed the LSVT LOUD treatment. These classes are designed to maintain your improvements you have made in therapy. The group is a supportive and social way to boost your therapy practice and maintain your vocal loudness, speech clarity and confidence in a positive way.

Medicare rebates are available with a referral from their GP under a GDM.

Private Health Insurance

Following payment to SPIN Clinic you can apply a claim for a rebates through your health fund if you have speech pathology cover in your extras. Check with your personal health fund about eligibility.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

If you are on an NDIS plan, your plan manager will be billed directly. If you are self managed, SPIN Clinic will bill you directly, and you can claim the fee back through the NDIS.
